چکیده

A combination of borehole Stoneley waves from full waveform acoustic logs and direct shear wave logs was used to estimate formation permeability and shear wave velocity. Data sets used here were collected by ARea's array full waveform acoustic logging tool and shear wave logging tool. The Pand S-wave velocities of the formation are determined by threshold detection with cross-correlation correction from the full waveform and the shear wave log, respectively. The full waveform acoustic logging data are also processed using the Extended Prony's method to estimate the borehole Stoneley wave phase velocity and attenuation as a function of frequency. Two different borehole models are considered for the inversion of Stoneley wave velocity and attenuation data. They are the isotropic elastic and the porous isotropic borehole models. Inversion parameters include shear wave velocity and formation permeability. Inverted shear wave velocities and permeabilities are compared with the shear wave log and the core permeability measurements, respectively, for an integrated interpretation and possible identification of shear wave anisotropy.

Sho-So-In: New Synthesis Method for Addition of Articulations Based on a Sho-type Physical Model

This paper proposes a synthesis framework that synthesizes sho-like sounds with the same articulations as the given input signal. This approach has three components: acoustic feature extraction, physical parameter estimation, and synthesis. At the acoustic feature extraction part, amplitude and fundamental frequency of the input signal were extracted, and the parameter estimation part converts ...

Sensitivity Analysis of Brown Model Waveform in Radar Altimetry

In satellite altimetry (radar altimetry), the altimeter emits a pulse, with known power, to the earth surface and receives it back continuously to determine of the sea surface height. The time series of the mean returned power is recorded individually at satellite as the so-called waveform. Analytical model for the waveform is first introduced by Brown, which consists of six parameters: signif...

Seismogram synthesis for radially layered media using the generalized reflection/transmission coefficients method: Theory and applications to acoustic logging

A new method based on generalized reflection and transmission coefficients is proposed to calculate the synthetic seismograms in radially multilayered media. This method can be used to efficiently simulate full waveform acoustic logs and crosswell seismic profiles in situations where we need to consider borehole effects. The new formulation is tested by comparing our numerical results with prev...

Estimation of Glottal Source Parameters from Diverse Signals

This is a study to investigate the parameters of the glottal source signal that are evidenced by three kinds of signals: an electroglottographic (EGG) signal, an acoustic signal, and an oral airflow signal. The glottal pulse waveform, whether intrinsically defined as glotal airflow or area, can be parameterized with attributes that vary across speakers and types of phonation. Some of these para...

Single-well imaging using full waveform sonic data

The sonic-waveform processing and imaging flow presented in this paper uses fullwaveform data recorded with a conventional acoustic well-logging tool, then adapts known surface-seismic processing steps and optimizes them for the borehole environment. This paper presents improvements brought to our original sonic-waveform processing and imaging flow. These improvements are better geometry assign...
